The keyboard Optimus finally got an exact price. We little thought it would be expensive and we were not surprised. $ 1,564 will get you one of these customizable keyboards ... but not until they are ready ... and if there is enough.
With the announcement of prices, the company also listed a development schedule
showing that the first series of Optimus keyboards should be shipping by the end of November 2007. tooling parts should be completed by July, but then they have to wait for approval from the FCC. The plan is to have 200 of the keyboards ready by then end of November, 2007. 200 more are expected in December, and another 400 in January 2008.
The Art Lebedev Website began a countdown, and if you are interested in being part of the first few to a pre-orders Optimus keyboard will be taken to the Optimus keyboard from 20 May 2007 to 15 pm, Moscow.
The Optimus keyboard is the product of Russian Art Lebedev Studio and has OLED keys that allow the appearance and functionality to be changed dynamically. The keys can display text or a picture to identify their function through each their own independent OLED screens.
