So after doing a little digging, gta v ran worse when you played the game entirely from the hdd. this occurs because the game was designed to take advantage of both the hdd and the disc-drive.. Disc lags quite a bit here but in most other cases, it's only a touch behind. we're fairly confident that the vast majority of games play just as well from disc as they do from a psn download.
Tc is asking if there's a difference between the loading times of physical vs digital games, not for a hd vs sshd vs ssd comparison. anyway. no, there is no difference in load times between the two, because even physical games are fully installed and run off the hard drive, just like digital. the disc is only there for verification.. Well, when you download a game digitally, you are basically installing the downloaded data. in other words, downloading digitally and installing through disk are one and the same; not two cases.. Disc - minimizes the possibility of server closures and the inevitable hard drive deaths taking my game from me. and while i've put a terabyte drive in the ps4 already, i'd prefer to never have to.
